Viktoria Poleva is one of Ukraine’s best-known composers. But she is almost totally unknown here in the U.S. The Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival aims to change that. Last year’s festival filled halls, back when we were still allowed to pack ourselves into concert halls. This year’s festival will be online, and will take place over the weekend of March 5-7, at various locations here in New York. Expect to hear works like Viktoria Poleva’s "Music For Temo" along with music of her colleagues, as well as a program of music of the Kyiv Avant-Garde, and electroacoustic works as part of the second annual Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival.
