#3668: Music for Violin Plus
Hear new music featuring violin on this New Sounds program, including selections from Anna Clyne's remarkable multimedia work, "The Violin" and the centerpiece of Irish fiddler/composer Adrian Hart's record, "Cuisle." Listen to Hart’s suite for violin and electronics "Cuisle ‘is Tonnta," where minimalist violin riffs make the rounds through Appalachian, Celtic, Cajun and klezmer camps, unleashing angry swells here and seeking solace there.
Then, hear music from Anna Clyne and an excerpt from her collaboration, "The Violin" (for two violins) featuring violinists Cornelius Dufallo and Amy Kauffmann. Then, listen to percussion-driven music from the Robin Cox Ensemble featuring electric violinist Todd Reynolds. Plus, hear Bill Alves’ music for violin and gamelan, and more.
