Intimate partner abuse disproportionately affects young adults. If you're a teenager who is being abused, or close to someone who is, we've compiled a list of places to find help.
For Teenagers and Young Adults:
Break the Cycle is a leading national nonprofit organization providing comprehensive dating abuse programs exclusively to young people ages 12 to 24. From the classroom to the courtroom, Break the Cycle works every day to give young people, and those who care about them, the tools they need to live safer, healthier lives.
Day One helped support Radio Rookies in recruiting young people for the series “Crushed: Teens and Dating Abuse.” Day One is an organization in New York City that partners with youth to end dating abuse and domestic violence through community education, supportive services, legal advocacy and leadership development.
The National Domestic Violence Hotline has resources for teens going through dating abuse. Their website, Loveisrespect offers highly-trained peer advocates offer support, information and advocacy to young people who have questions or concerns about their dating relationship. It also provides information and support to concerned friends and family member, teachers, counselors, service providers and members of law enforcement. Free and confidential phone, live chat and testing services are available 24/7/365.

Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP) is one of the most extensive domestic violence prevention programs in NYC, and is based in public high schools throughout the City. Established in 1999, RAPP's mission is to end relationship abuse among young people. Its curriculum helps students to identify destructive patterns of behavior before they become repeating patterns in adult relationships.

National and NY Support Services and Resources
The Hotline is the only 24/7 center in the nation that has access to service providers and shelters across the U.S.
New York State’s Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence lists state and local resources for victims seeking help:
Safe Horizon is the largest nonprofit victim’s service agency in the country. Safe Horizon provides counseling, referrals and support.
Sanctuary for Families, based in New York City, is a leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and related forms of gender violence.
