Award-winning novelist Kathleen Hill talks about her memoir She Read to Us in The Late Afternoons: A Life in Novels. She explores defining moments of a life illuminated by novels. She connects the stories and characters from literature to turning points in her life -- from reading Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart to her students in a newly-independent Nigeria, to reading Madame Bovary in a town in northern France.
