Who is the White Working Class?

Joan C. Williams, Distinguished Professor of Law and Hastings Foundation Chair at the University of California, joins us to discuss her new book, White Working Class: Overcoming Class Cluelessness in America. Williams argues that the white working class doesn't necessarily mean "poor," but actually refers to the disappearing middle class. She looks at what this group wants from the American economy, and why it has embraced nationalist and populist movements.
