Composer Sarah Davachi is a fan of medieval and Renaissance music, especially those Renaissance choral works where the voices become a single, almost ethereal mass of sound. So her own works tend to build up from layers of similar instruments, whether voices, strings, organs, or electronics. At their peak, it becomes almost impossible to figure out who’s doing what individual part – and it would be beside the point to even try. The LA group Wild Up is debuting a new piece of hers on Friday night, March 21. Wild Up's weekend residency, Darkness Soundsing, at 92NY include works by Sarah Davach, Scott Walker, Claude Vivier and others, through Sunday, March 23.
