When Disney didn't like a Los Angeles Times investigative series about its influence on local government in California, it blacklisted the paper, refusing to send film screeners to the Times’ critics for review. The plan backfired, big time. Journalists and film critics from across the country vowed to boycott Disney, and their show of solidarity worked: Disney lifted the LA Times ban within a few days.
