Workshop in Business Opportunities
On this episode of Black Industrial Revolution moderator Raymond C. Turner interviews Frank Feldman, President of the Workshop in Business Opportunities Inc, a 16-week intensive course to teach men from underserved communities how to succeed in their business or trade. He is joined by three alumni of the program who have each expanded their business since completing the course: Hector Vega, who owns a shoe store and is planning to open another store in Puerto Rico; Ronald Lewis, who owns a jewelry store; and Arlington Hays, who owns a construction business.
Feldman describes the program and its inception by management consultant Walter Geier. Turner asks the guests about issues with securing insurance, hiring employees and seeking partners or stockholders.
According to Feldman, "If the black person in America does not involve himself in the business community, he will never achieve first class citizenship."
