The electronic music duo Xeno & Oaklander consists of Sean McBride and Liz Wendelbo, and together they’ve been making slightly left-of-center synth-pop since 2006. Initially they were seen as a kind of revival of the late70s electronic music style known as cold wave, but over the years the duo has leaned into their pop sensibility with lush layers of keyboards, thumping beats, and Wendelbo’s softly sung but occasionally unsettling lyrics. Their latest album is called, "Via Negativa", and Xeno & Oaklander play as part of SYNTHICIDE, on Friday, Dec. 20 at TV Eye in Ridgewood, Queens.
