Yo La Tengo – Ashes (Weekly Music Roundup)

The veteran indie rock band Yo La Tengo is back with a new album, called There’s A Riot Going On. The title was borrowed from an album by Sly & The Family Stone, done back in the early 1970's when America was feeling divided and uncertain. Yo La Tengo’s album is not a rabble-rousing political statement though – its songs are mostly gentle, even a bit hazy. It acknowledges dark times but seems to suggest that we all just chill. "Ashes," from the new album by Yo La Tengo is part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
