Zephyr Teachout Takes on Corruption in Politics

The founders of the United States predicted that corruption would be an inevitable problem in politics and would be a central threat to the country. Zephyr Teachout looks at the history of bribery, lobbying, and corruption in this country and she argues that the Citizen’s United ruling and unlimited spending is transforming American politics for the worse. In her book Corruption in America: From Benjamin Franklin's Snuff Box to Citizens United Teachout examines the Supreme Court’s definition of corruption. She’ll also talk about challenging Governor Cuomo in the democratic primary and tell us about her own political plans.
