Isaiah Collier – "Joy" (Soundcheck Podcast)

Isaiah Collier is having a busy year. He’s been touring around playing John Coltrane’s jazz classic A Love Supreme to mark the centennial of Coltrane’s birth. That project shows off his formidable chops as a sax player. But he’s also about to release an EP of his own music called Joy, and on that collection, he mostly plays keyboards, flutes, some drums, and, he sings. Collier’s songs reflect his background in gospel and R&B, so they’re a fascinating complement to his Coltrane work. Isaiah Collier and his band play a live set in our studio for the Monday edition of Soundcheck,
