A violent hate crime claimed one NYC man's marathon dream. A year later, he's taking it back.

WNYC News | Oct 31

Daniel Cho was standing on the platform of the Bowery J/Z train station at around 4 p.m. on Oct. 29, 2025. He was on his way to collect his official credentials to run in his first-ever marathon when a stranger approached him on the platform, punched him in the face and knocked him down onto the tracks, shouting a racist slur. After a year of physical and emotional recovery, Cho is back to run his first marathon.
