New Jersey noncitizen voter registration confusion continues after software glitch

Fallout continues from a voter registration scandal at New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle Commission. Late last month it was revealed a software glitch allowed thousands of noncitizens to register to vote at the MVC. Governor Mikie Sherrill then voiced support for a voter ID law in the Garden State.

A group of voting rights groups almost immediately responded to the Governor’s statement with a letter opposing new voting ID requirements. They included the state chapters of the ACLU and League of Women Voters, and Salvation and Social Justice. Reverend Dr. Charles Boyer leads Salvation and Social Justice and he joins WNYC's Sean Carlson to talk more about the voter registration scandal.
