Expert says number of flash floods likely to increase in NYC
WNYC News | 4 hours ago
It certainly feels humid today and it’s been cloudy and rainy for the last two weeks.
As recently as Monday, and twice in July, the National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings. That’s when there’s a sudden flood quickly after heavy rain, when the water accumulates faster than drainage systems like sewers can absorb.

Tyler Taba, the director of policy and government affairs at Waterfront Alliance, joins WNYC's Sean Carlson to help us understand more about flooding in the city.
