Jersey City mayor James Solomon responds to governor's vetoes.

WNYC News | 2 hours ago

Jersey City currently faces a $255-million dollar budget shortfall, and Governor Sherrill just vetoed two bills that might have helped.

The two bills would have allowed city leaders to temporarily raid the local open space fund, create a new tax on car rentals and spend money collected from parking fees.

Jersey City mayor James Solomon joined WNYC's Michael Hill to talk about what that will mean for his city.
