The Outer Country, a debut novel from Davin Malasarn, follows multiple generations of a family split between Thailand and the United States. Malasarn drew from his own life for its story, including an experience of conversion therapy when a monk is called to perform an exorcism on a young boy exhibiting effeminate traits. Malasarn joins us.
