The 2026 Jimmy Awards: The biggest night in teen Broadway

More than 100 young performers from across the nation will gather in New York City for the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, more popularly known as the Jimmy Awards, on June 22. 

But for some nominees, that trip to New York isn’t all that long. Some of these young actors and actresses are from the city and its backyard.  

Delia Canarie comes to the awards from Conard High School in New Haven, Connecticut. Darragh Hallinan is a student at Darien High School in Darien, Connecticut. Emersyn Hunt is a student at the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City. All three are nominated for the Jimmy Awards this year. They joined WNYC's Michael Hill to talk about their nominations.
