Habibi Festival: Nesrine at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!
Nesrine at Habibi Festival at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! at the Lena Horne Bandshell
Featuring EMEL, Mai Elgizouli, Yacine Boulares
July 10. 6PM. FREE.
The free concerts keep on coming this week, with the Habibi Festival, which celebrates the music of the Near East and North Africa, taking the stage at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park. There are interesting artists up and down the bill on July 10, including the North African and European cellist, composer, and vocalist Nesrine, whose mix of North African rhythms, classical virtuosity, and Western pop reflects an artist who claims both Oum Kalthoum and Erykah Badu as influences. Nesrine performs at the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival in Prospect Park on Friday, July 10 as part of the Habibi Festival, sharing the stage alongside headliner EMEL, Sudanese singer-songwriter Mai Elgizouli, and the Habibi Festival House band.
