Lara Somogyi at National Sawdust

Sept. 11. 7:30PM. $48.67

Canadian composer Lara Somogyi plays the harp. Like most harpists, she’s classically trained; unlike most harpists, though, Somogyi is also interested in electronics and in the repeating patterns of minimalism. She’s also done a fair amount of soundtrack music. Her new album is called a [time] patterned, and explores not how time is measured but how it actually feels, and it includes the sounds of digital delays and other electronic effects, as well as occasional violin and cello. Lara Somogyi plays on Friday, Sept. 11 at National Sawdust in Brooklyn.
