Fall migration is underway so there's a diversity of birds temporarily calling New York City home. A family of barn owls, which are non-migratory birds, has also recently found a cozy home on the Upper West Side.

David Barrett is the founder of the Manhattan Bird Alert. He joined WNYC host Michael Hill to help identify some of the cool birds currently roaming around our city and their calls.

The bird sounds in this interview are from the the Cornell Lab of Ornithology | Macaulay Library.
