Debate continues after AOC backtracks from 'defund the police'

A debate sparked by Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez continues to rage on.

Last weekend, the Democratic Socialist, who represents parts of the Bronx and Queens on Capitol Hill, appeared to distance herself from some of the hard-left stances she and others took in the immediate aftermath of George Floyd's killing at the hands of police.

And since then, there has been a bit of a reckoning for the left-flank of the Democratic party.

WNYC's Elizabeth Kim joins Weekend Edition host David Furst for an update.
