Mamdani releases the first citywide plan for addressing racial inequality across NYC

New York City’s first ever racial equity plan is out.

The plan was about four years in the making. In 2022, New Yorkers passed a ballot measure that created the office of racial equity and required a citywide racial equity plan.

So what’s in it? The city’s chief equity officer and commissioner Afua Atta Mensah talked with WNYC's Sean Carlson to talk more about this new report.
