How to keep your electricity bill low during NYC's heat wave

People are cranking up their air conditioners during NYC's first heat wave, but how will that affect New Yorkers' utility bills at the end of the month? And are there strategies to keep our bill as low as possible this year?

Laurie Wheelock is the executive director and general counsel of the Public Utility Law Project, a nonprofit that advocates for affordability and customer protection for utility consumers. She joins WNYC's Sean Carlson to share some tips.
