Trumpeter Eddie Henderson and sax player Gary Bartz have played together for a long time; but they both played with the great Miles Davis as well. May 26th was Miles Davis’s 100th birthday, and Eddie Henderson’s Quintet, which includes Gary Bartz as well as drummer Billy Hart, another Miles alumnus, will be celebrating the Miles Davis centennial this week. The Eddie Henderson Quintet presents their Miles Davis 100th Celebration at Smoke Jazz Club, May 27-31, with two and sometimes three shows a night.
