Frequently Asked Questions

WNYC.org Changes

Why the change?

We’ve updated the WNYC website to provide a better, more reliable experience for our listeners. Our goal is to create a user-friendly experience so you can find what you need quickly and spend more time listening. We hope that listeners find it easy to listen live, see what’s currently on the air, and discover new programming online and in the WNYC app.

Where can I find the schedule?

Select Daily Schedule from the top of the homepage. From there, you can access and download a PDF of our weekly schedule.

Where is the “Search” option? Can I still search by topic, like I do with the app?

Search isn’t currently available on our website, but we’re actively working to improve this feature and appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Streams

Where is the AM stream?

WNYC consolidated our FM and AM schedules into a single, unified lineup. This change reflects the technical limitations of AM transmission, evolving listener habits online, and a goal to simplify operations by managing one consistent radio feed.

You can still listen to AM 820 through your radio via live broadcast.

Programming

Where can I find Gig Alerts, Soundcheck episodes and New Sounds Weekly Roundups?

Go to “Browse All Shows” and search for “Gig Alerts”. You can also find a link to Gig Alerts on the New Sounds show page. Weekly Roundups can be found on the New Sounds show page.

Where are local news segments posted? Is “News” listed as a show? Are there any audio archives for news items?

You can find them under the show “WNYC News”

I only see a few [mostly NPR] shows in the All Shows menu. Where are shows like 1A, BBC, Marketplace, The Moth, Science Friday, Selected Shorts, Snap Judgment, Soundcheck, etc.?

We have shows for all WNYC produced content and select NPR shows. We are working to expand support for other partner shows.

How can I see the schedule for a previous day’s programming?

The Schedule page, e.g. https://wnyc.org/live only shows today’s programming and an option for future days.

Where can I find info about a specific show?

Select Browse All Shows from the top of the homepage. On the page you’ll find a list of our shows and you may enter into the search bar the name of the show you are looking for.

Events

Where can I find more info about The Green Space and live events?

You can find information about The Greene Space and view upcoming events on the events page.
