Energy Secretary Chris Wright landed in Caracas, Venezuela, on Wednesday to sign a deal with interim President Delcy Rodríguez to take control of a large portion of the country’s oil reserves.

President Donald Trump is calling it the biggest oil deal in world history. But critics say this deal reeks of imperialism after the U.S. arrested and detained former President Nicolás Maduro in January.
