Dr. Lansing was well known for his work in biology and gerontology.
Dr. Albert Ingram Lansing (1915—January 2002) taught at Washington and Emory Universities before becoming the chair of the Department of Anatomy (later renamed the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1956. He studied cellular aging using chemistry and electron microscopes.
