Computer Magic is the solo project of 21-year-old DJ and blogger Danielle "Danz" Johnson. She left the small Catskill Mountain town of Rock Hill in upstate New York to attend Manhattan’s Hunter College. She began composing, writing and producing her lo-fi meets sci-fi-inspired arcade sounds that are Computer Magic just last winter. This track, “Running,” opens with Nintendo-inspired urgency before breaking into Johnson’s synth-drowned vocals. Tonight at Matchless, she performs live with Justin Morley on guitar, Justin Coles on bass and Chris Egan on drums.
