Scottish guitarist and singer Bert Jansch is widely considered one of the godfathers of modern music. His innovative acoustic guitar stylings in the '60’s and genre-defining British folk-rock in the '70’s with the band Pentagle has led musicians Jimmy Page and Neil Young to sing Jansch's praise. Young claims Jansch is to the acoustic guitar what Jimi Hendrix was to the electric guitar—and he's not saying that because his wife, Pegi, is on tour right now with the Glasgow-born acoustic legend. Paul Simon, Bernard Butler, Donovan, Nick Drake and Johnny Marr have also mirrored Young's sentiment. Check out how Jansch has changed music for nearly 50 years at tonight’s show at The Bell House.
