Other Languages

Spinning on Air | Jan 19, 2011

Songs potentially come at our brains from two directions: music and words. But we've probably all had the experience of learning that we've misunderstood some of the words to a song we love. And isn't it possible to love a song in a language we can't speak? Host David Garland presents some unusual songs in other languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, French, and the lingua franca of gibberish. New projects by Rauelsson & Peter Broderick, and Jeanne Moreau & Etienne Daho are featured, along with music from 1982 by Brazilian composer Elomar, and Bruno Coulais' charming score for the 2010 documentary film "Babies."
