The second album from guitarist and composer Giancarlo Vulcano, My Funny Detective, is film music without the film. Inspired by the atmospheric scores of film noir classics, it’s instrumental music full of trembling guitars, dark horns, and cinematic intrigue. Of course, Vulcano is no stranger to soundtracks. He's worked as a score supervisor on several films, including "Gangs of New York," and he's the co-music director of the hit TV comedy "30 Rock." On Wednesday night at Joe’s Pub, Vulcano plays music from the new album, including this slinky tune: “On the Case.”
