Jumbo Jet Clips Commuter Plane at JFK Airport

The two jets that were involved in a minor collision on the runway at John F. Kennedy Airport last night will be inspected to determine the extent of their damage, officials said.

An Air France Flight 7 bound for Paris spun nearly 90 degrees when its left wing clipped the tail of Comair commuter jet while it was taxiing on the runway just after 8 p.m. Monday.

There were 495 passengers and 25 crew members on board the Air France Airbus A380. Sixty-two people and four crew members were on board the Comair CRJ 700 jet.

There were no injuries, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Jim Peters said.
