Perth, Australia’s Tame Impala released its debut full-length album last summer. The album, Innerspeaker, channels the psychedelic wanderings of The Beatles (during the Fab Four's Magical Mystery Tour era), but it also stands up well on its own. The online indie music tastemaker Pitchfork ranked the album No. 43 on its Top 50 Albums of 2010 list. Opening for Brooklyn's indie sensation MGMT this past summer didn't hurt either.

Innerspeaker was recorded in the middle of nowhere, Australia, in a beach house south of the band's hometown. Dave Fridmann, who also produces MGMT's music, did the final mixing on the album in an upstate New York log cabin. The resulting reverb-drenched, harmonized vocals of lead singer Kevin Parker can be heard on this track “Solitude Is Bliss.”
