Amtrak Restores Northeast Service But Delays Persist

Rail service has been restored along the Northeast Corridor, yet heavy delays persist after Amtrak and New Jersey Transit service was temporarily suspended at the start of rush hour Thursday.

Amtrak says trains are running along the Northeast corridor between New York and Philadelphia.

An electrical problem in Richmond, Virginia, may be the source of a voltage problem Thursday morning, which was resolved by 8 a.m., according to Amtrak spokesman Cliff Cole.

NJ Transit stopped its Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line trains.
