Poem: "The Republic of Conscience" by Seamus BWise This program and the next are devoted to Pete Seeger, whose birthday it is this Saturday. The program features segments from a conversation Steve Post recently had with Seeger in the WNYC studios. Pete plays his famous banjo, sings a couple of songs, and tells stories about his life as an activist artist. Steve sings along from time-to-time and generally adds his two cents worth. Additional music draws upon the younger Pete as well as The Almanac Singers and The Weavers.
