For singer/songwriter and North Carolina native Jason Reischel, it took a move to Brooklyn to inspire him to write songs with a Southern edge. With his band My Cousin, The Emperor, Reischel explores an alt-country sound that tips its hat to the indie rock scene while still maintaining a simple twang. On this languid, swaying track, the band moseys through a bittersweet melody that features bits of Dixie-rific banjo and pedal steel guitar.
