The Empire | May 29, 2012

GOP Senate hopeful Wendy Long racked up another endorsement on Tuesday, this time from Ambassador John R. Bolton, the former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

Bolton called Long, "superbly qualified to represent New York as a U.S. Senator and is the only candidate who can defeat Kirsten Gillibrand in November.”

Long is vying for the GOP spot on the November ballot against George Maragos, the Nassau County comptroller, and Representative Bob Turner, a congressman representing Queens and Brooklyn.

On Friday, the cable news stations NY1 and YNN announced that all three candidates will debate live for an hour on Sunday, June 17 at 7 p.m.

The GOP primary is scheduled for June 26.
