Laurie Metcalf and Zoe Perry in “The Other Place”

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jan 16, 2013

Three-time Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Laurie Metcalf and her daughter Zoe Perry talk about their roles in Sharr White’s play “The Other Place.” Metcalf plays Juliana Smithton, a successful neurologist whose life seems to be coming unhinged. Her husband has filed for divorce, her daughter (played by Zoe Perry) has eloped with a much older man, and her own health is in jeopardy. Piece by piece, a mystery unfolds as fact blurs with fiction, past collides with present and the elusive truth about Juliana boils to the surface. “The Other Place” is playing at the Manhattan Theater Company’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
