A Musical Tribute to John Denver

Soundcheck | Apr 5, 2013

John Denver would have turned 70 years old at the end of this year. The singer-songwriter best known for his string of hits in the 1970s like “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and “Rocky Mountain High” died 15 years ago, when the plane he was piloting crashed into the Pacific Ocean. A new album called The Music Is You: A Tribute to John Denver features artists like Lucinda Williams, Dave Matthews, Jim James and Sharon Van Etten – all putting their own spin on John Denver’s catalog of songs. ATO Records' Jon Salter and Brian Schwartz, manager of the John Denver estate, join us to talk about paying tribute
