The Met has announced that it's about to receive one of the most significant gifts in its history.

The museum is getting an extensive collection of Cubist artwork from philanthropist and cosmetics entrepreneur Leonard Lauder. The New York Times reports that the collection is worth more than $1 billion. It includes dozens of works by Picasso, Braque, and other Cubist pioneers.
