Lionel Shriver discusses her new novel, Big Brother, about siblings, marriage, and obesity. For Pandora, cooking is a form of love, but her husband has begun to spurns the “toxic” dishes she makes and spends hours each day manically cycling. When Pandora’s brother comes to visit she doesn’t recognize him because he has gained hundreds of pounds. When he overstays his welcome, Pandora’s husband delivers an  ultimatum: It’s him or me.
