Local band Sex Mob loves musical challenges, from reinterpreting film scores to dominating battle-of-the-bands-style performances around town.
They speak with us about their album of James Bond-inspired compositions and their performance this week at Celebrate Brooklyn! Pianist Lang Lang and mezzo-soprano Susan Graham are the opening-night act of the Lincoln Center Mostly Mozart festival, and they’ll give us a glimpse of this evening’s show. And new-music composer Neely Bruce drops in for a conversation. His recent “Convergence: Some Parades for Charlie’s Dad” makes its debut (with the help of 1,000 musicians) at Lincoln Center Out of Doors.
