Listen to works from previous Bang on a Can People’s Commissioning Fund Concerts. From 2013, listen to Dan Deacon's "Sago An Ya Rev," a textural morphing transcription of a NASA Voyager featuring audience participation via the smart phone Dan Deacon App. [You can download the FREE Dan Deacon App (for iPhone or Android) and play along with his piece as you listen! ] Also, hear Marc Mellits’ “5 Machines," (PCF, premiered 2000) with impressive and complicated cross-rhythms and syncopated hooky lines, carried by marimba, piano, bass clarinet, guitar, all amplified. Then, listen to music by Christine Southworth, which premiered at the Bang on a Can PCF on February 24, 2010, her “Concerning the Doodle." The work accompanies a film (about the adventures and fantasies of a dog) by the Clever Girls Collaborative, and is a hard rocking odyssey that eventually moves into brighter pop, as driven by the film.
