Roll Over Beethoven

Soundcheck | May 3, 2010
Hailed by the New York Times as an "superb contemporary sextet," Eighth Blackbird is an important young force in the new-music world. Imagine going to a classical recital that's more like a rock concert, where the musicians play complicated music from memory, walk around on stage and include the audience in their antics. Today, members of the ensemble will stop by to talk to us, plus a live performance by the Zehetmair Quartet, a string quartet led by the acclaimed violinist Thomas Zehetmair.
