Educator, ethnomusicologist, and Egypt's most important living composer of classical music Halim El-Dabh visits today. El-Dabh’s biographer, Dr. Denise Seachrist joins him as well to discuss his career and the new book The Musical World of Halim El-Dabh. We also welcome Irish composer Donnacha Dennehey, whose new work is being premiered at Bang on a Can's People's Commissioning Fund concert this weekend. Who are these "people" that commissioned him?
