Strumming a New Sound

Guitarist Bill Frisell has managed to become one of the most influential guitarists over the past twenty five years without really trying. His music has brought together jazz, blues, classical, rock and country to create a unique sound that can only be described as original. Today, he joins us on Soundcheck to discuss his many different new projects. Plus cellist Matt Haimovitz, who is most famous for playing solo cello shows in rock clubs, has released a new cd entitled, Anthem, devoted to the works of American composers including Jimmy Hendrix, Lou Harrison, David Sanford and Luna Pearl Woolf. He plays some of those works live in the WNYC studio.
