Sexy Swinger

Straight out of the “Swinging” scene of 1960’s London, Jane Birkin gained stardom as an actress, singer and model, associating with some of the most notorious personalities of the time and working with film directors like Michelangelo Antonioni and Roger Vadim. Now, she has just released a new CD, a tribute to her late ex-husband and musical partner, Serge Gainsbourg. She joins us to tell tales of her storied past and give a preview of this new recording. Plus, we’ll look at one of the most celebrated yet forgotten American pianists of 19th century, Blind Tom. Born into slavery, Thomas Greene Wiggins (known to the public as Blind Tom) was the first American of African lineage to perform at the White House. Pianist John Davis will be in the studio to tell us about the life of Blind Tom and perform some of his music.
