In a new anthology titled “Lit Riffs,” twenty-four noted writers have penned stories inspired by great songs. Today, Matthew Miele, the book’s editor, shares highlights with John Schaefer. These include stories by the late great Lester Bangs, Jonathan Lethem, Tom Perrotta, Nelson George, Amanda Davis, Lisa Tucker, Aimee Bender, Darin Strauss and others, riffing on everyone from Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen to the White Stripes, Cat Power, and Bob Marley. We’re also joined by music writer Ben Finane, who previews a new recording of choral music from the Baltic region by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.
