Soundcheck | May 3, 2010

But with all the hype, there are very few hit artists. Today, a closer look at who stands out in the genre. Also: Friday marks the biggest shopping day of the holiday season, and in advance, we look at the changing face of the music retail business. Finally, marking the 150th anniversary of Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass," we're joined by NYU Professor Karen Karbiener, who sheds light on the Brooklyn writer's connections to music.
